Gawd, Dwan is tiresome with his long dramatic decisions while staring into
space like a Martian longing for his home planet. Which he probably is.
Every time I watch him play, I half expect his ears will grow points on
them.
i can’t stand Hellmuth, but i cannot help but feel for the guy after that
hand against Durr. I thought he was just tanking it and trying to get more
camera time, I didn’t think he was actually going to call. I mean it’s
already risky enough to call w/ top pair and a strong kicker, but mid-pair
w/ an average kicker? I know he didn’t want to look bad on tv by getting
bluffed and wanted to look good by making the right hero call, but the
price was too steep imo. He was only in for 40 G’s before Durr’s all in so
he wasn’t pot committed and if he walked away right there he would have
been still up 20 G’s for the night.
“I don’t know what I am going to do, I might quit.” Promises, promises.
Phil is a good player, possibly a very good player, but he is not the
best. To be the best you have to deal with being beat once in a while.
You are going to get out-flopped, beat on the turn, and rivered from time
to time. You can admit you just got beat and move on, or you can go the
classless route, which Phil too often does. He restrained himself this
time though…. maybe he’s growing up!
i am a far cry from a pro holdem player, but i don’t get phials call for
120 with a pair of 7,s
and i don get doyles lay down with the 9 being the over pair.
gotta love Dwan’s push though.. he knows Phil thinks he is a better player
than all others alive. So he is playing his own ego against him. Beautiful.
Phil is a donk for sure. He needs to play the cash game.. and not try to
hero-call everyone as soon as it gets interesting.
23:28 What a stupid Calling Station this Dwan sometimes is. Your King is
shit. No Kicker, you are so easily be dominated. Just give up your shit
hand. He should know it better. Laak is a safe player. When he bets, he had
something. Its players like these who never see when the oppenent had a
monster for example Pocket Aces and calling them down to the river and make
often a undeserved suckout.
lol hellmuth is so bad. he claims he knew dwan had a weak hand pre-flop. if
that’s the case, the far better play would have been for him to 5-bet dwan.
calling a dwan 4-bet with 97o is just silly, even in position.
